David Conducting
David Brandenburg has written a wide variety of music for large and small ensembles, theater, and television. Described in the press as “rousing,” “whimsical,” and “inspired,” his work includes music for Broadway stars Jenn Colella and Jim Walton, the New York Knicks, Sesame Street, and the Off-Broadway production Taming of the Shrew: Extreme. He has worked on projects with Alec Baldwin, Laurie Metcalf, Jimmy Fallon, and Blythe Danner, and with directors Tony Walton, Lonny Price, and Scott Schwartz, among many others.

Brandenburg directed the Yale Jazz Ensemble for eleven years and is currently Music Director of the Island Jazz Express, a Long Island big band. He is also Music Director and producer for the Hamptons Shakespeare Festival, a company he co-founded which presents theater and educational programs from eastern Long Island to New York City.

On the administrative side, Brandenburg was Executive Director of The Choral Society of the Hamptons and South Fork Chamber Orchestra, and previously worked for Meet The Composer and the National Dance Institute.

He has lectured for the Association of Yale Alumni, and has degrees in music from Yale College and Teachers College, Columbia University.
